Seniors, follow the timeline below in order to stay on track with your college preparation process. 

Semester 1 
July Summer Weeks 
  • Attend Summer writing workshop with Dr. Pastriech
  • Get out into the community and volunteer your time. 
  • Approach companies/organizations of interest for summer internship opportunities 
  • Research specific requirements for admissions to your college/university of choice(s)
  • Standardized Testing Prep or Actual Testing 
  • Work on your student resume via Naviance (Copy & Paste in a GOOGLE DOC)
  • Once Senior "Rollover on naviance is complete, link your common App (Open August 1st)  with your Naviance account
August  Week 1 
  • "Lock in" your class schedule. Confirm that it meets requirements for ALL choices of Colleges/Universities you wish to apply to. 
  • Complete your Naviance Resume and work on your 2015-2016 Common App Essay Prompts
  • Walk in appointments with Ms. KC after school to discuss class schedule
  • Register for September ACT Testing
  • Start to work on your personal statement or essay requirements for prospective universities. 
  • Attend Senior Seminars during Homeroom 
Week 2- 3
  •   Book 1-1 appointments with Ms. KC & Dr. Pastriech (Especially Early decision applicants) 
  •   Attend Senior Seminars during Homeroom  
  •   Work on Personal Statements & Common App Essay Prompts
  •   Sign up for College Visits listed in Naviance
Week 4
  • Confirm your 1) Dream 2) Reach & 3) Safety Universities. Confirm the Name & Deadlines with Ms. KC. Be sure to add them in Common App and Naviance. 
  • Notify Ms. KC if you are considering Early Decision OR Early Action (Click here for explanations) or (here)
  • Personal Statement and Student Resume must be complete for Early Decision or Early Action Applicants
  • Deadline for October SAT test registration
Sept. Week 5
  •  Early Action Applicants MUST request letters of recommendation from teachers starting this week. 
  •  Registration for November SAT
Week 6  
  • Early Applicants - Confirm deadlines & book appointments with Ms. KC 
  • Personal Statement and Student Resume must be complete (DUE)
  • ACT Testing 
  • Register for October ACT
Week 7
  •  Request Letters of Recommendation from teachers via Naviance & Google Request form
  • Off-Site Career Visit at Campus D 
 Week 8-9 
  • Book 1-1 appointments with Ms. KC & Dr. Pastriech
  • October SAT Test
  • Registration for December SAT
Oct. Week 10
  •  Inform Ms. KC if your application deadline is December 30th 
  •  October ACT Testing
  •  Early Applicants - send scores to colleges 
Week 11 
  •  Register for December ACT Testing 
Week 12 
  •  Request transcripts. Check on status. Update your google checklist 

Week 13
  •  SAT November Testing 

  •  Registration for January SAT

Nov/Dec Week 14-16
  •  Request initial transcripts. Check on status, update your checklist. 
Week 17 
  •  SAT December Testing 
Week 18 
  • Deadline for transcript and document transfers. (If you fail to meet this deadline, document transfers cannot occur until the start of the 3rd quarter.
Week 19 
  •  Early Decision and Early action letters should be arriving

 


Semester 2 
Jan  Week 1 
  • Prepare for February Applications, determine if already sent applications have been received.
Week 2 
  • Financial Aid deadlines will be occuring in February. Be sure to check the status of all your applications. (FAFSA, CSS profile)
